Welcome to my class page! I am currently enjoying my 14th year of teaching at IHM. This is my fifth year teaching first grade after nine wonderful years of teaching third graders. I am also one of the caretakers of our school library, co-chair of the yearly Scholastic Book Fair, and co-director of the Junior High musical. Before joining the IHM community, I taught in the public school system in a number of different roles, and I was also blessed to spend many years as a full-time mother.
I grew up in Princeton, Indiana. I graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana with a B A. in Elementary Education and a concentration in Special Education. In 2017 I completed my Masters as Teacher Leader in Education from Georgetown College. My husband, Brian, and I have been members of IHM since 2001. I have three children-Olivia, Adam, and Anna. All three of them attended IHM, and my older two have also gone on to attend a Catholic high school and university.
My passions are singing, Broadway musicals, watching Indianapolis Colts football, and reading. My favorite phrase to use in the classroom is “Mistakes are beautiful opportunities to learn!” I teach because I love the challenge of helping each child to reach his or her full potential. All of the “greats” in other professions began as students with great teachers!
