Mrs. Julie Dusing

Welcome to the First Grade!  My name is Julie Dusing, lucky teacher of 1A.  I have a lot of enthusiasm about teaching children, encouraging their love of learning, and helping them grow in their Catholic faith!  This is my seventh year teaching 1st Grade at IHM.  Before teaching 1st, I taught Kindergarten and was responsible for the Kindergarten RTI (Response to Intervention) program at St. Pius X in Edgewood, KY. I was a Kindergarten Aide at St. Timothy in Union, KY where I fell in love with teaching.  

Along with my lifelong love of learning, I enjoy sharing my love of dance, art, music, and theater with my students.  I earned my degree at Stephens College in Columbia, MO and I received my Masters from the University of the Cumberlands.  My 20 year old son (Alex) is a Junior at University of Louisville.  My husband Doug and I live in Union, KY with our two dogs (Liberty “Libby” and Rocky). I grew up in Hendersonville, TN.  

I’m looking forward to another wonderful school year at our amazing BLUE RIBBON school, IHM!  Go Saints!
